Over the years (Heartwood is getting old!) we have been planting trees at schools and donating to silent auctions for organizations around the City of Madison and through Dane County. This year that effort has sprouted some wings, and we are getting more involved in actively seeking out opportunities to promote and plant trees in the communities that support our business.

Tree Donations

We use retail side tree sales to subsidize our donations of trees and time to community efforts. Your support through tree purchases and tree care services contributes directly to our ability to plant trees for and with local organizations. Below are examples of things we have planned for 2020.

Saluting Branches

We plant 10-15 trees at the Wood National Cemetery each the fall as part of Saluting Branches. This is an amazing volunteer event carried out nationwide every September; click the link to learn more.

Devil’s Lake State Park

We will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Arbor Day this year by planting approximately 25 trees at the Quartzite Campground. This collaboration with Devils Lake Climbing Guides will be the first time we are planting in a Wisconsin state park and we would love to make it an annual Arbor Day tradition.

Tree Donations to Madison Area Groups

Below are some examples of organizations we work with to promote arboriculture in the Madison area.

Community Arboriculture Programs

We love working with local organizations to provide educational arboriculture opportunities. We are happy to arrange a time to visit your group to share knowledge surrounding tree planting, tree health and tree care. We have worked with school groups, scout troops and other organizations. We charge only for materials for these programs (like trees if you will be planting them). Please use the form below if you’d like to discuss us working with your group.
